During my tenure I wrote multiple NASA technical papers and a thesis for a Masters of Science in Materials Engineering from Auburn University. I am a member of the ACR, ABR and RSNA. I enjoy hiking & camping, weight training and mineral and coin collecting. Along with my wife and 2 sons, we share our home with a chocolate lab and a ball python. Dr. Mendrek joined Blue Ridge Radiology in 2006.

Dr. Thurman has been with Blue Ridge Radiology since 2012. His main clinical interests include women’s imaging and image guided procedures. He has been involved with group leadership since 2015. He and his wife, Katie are Tri-Cities natives. Most of their free time is spent shuttling their three children: Anna, Lydia and Bennett, to their assorted activities. His favorite activities are trips to Dollywood and days on the lake with his family.
